If you use the Promotions feature, then use the Promotions report to track the success of your promotional campaigns. You have the ability to restrict results by location, by promotion, and for a list of tagged clients only. Also, you can access the report in summary view, to conduct analysis across many promotions, or in detail view, to gather specific sales information.

It is important to note: This report will track all the times a promotion code was used, regardless if the transaction was returned. It will only remove the entry if the sale was voided.


Report's location

Hit the Reports tab and choose Sales from the tabs on the left. To narrow the list, select Sale Analysis from the filters, and then click Promotions to open the report. You can also access this report by hitting the Clients tab and choosing Marketing from the filters. You can always use the search bar at the top right to search for Promotions by name, and if it’s a report you use often, then consider making it one of your favorites

Report's filters

  • Start Date: This report runs for a range of days, and considers promotions only within that range. This is the beginning of the range.
  • End Date: This is the end of the range.
  • Location: Run the report for a specific location, or for promotions at all locations at once.
  • Promotions: Run the report for a specific promotion, or for all promotions at once.
  • View: Choose summary or detail view.

Report's results

Summary view

In summary view, the report returns the following:

  • Promotion name
  • Quantity of items to which the promotion was applied
  • Discount amount per item
  • Total amount made from the promotional sale

Detail view

In detail view, the report returns the following:

  • Date
  • Sale ID - links to the Manage Sales screen
  • Promotion
  • Client - links to the client's Purchases screen
  • Barcode
  • Item
  • Quantity
  • Unit Price
  • Discount
  • Discount percentage
  • Total amount made from the promotional sale
  • Employee who made the promotional sale

Permissions that control access to this report

To view and run this report, the following permission must be enabled for you or your staff's login group:

  • Sales/Sales by Category/Sales by Services

To grant or restrict access to this report, just hit the Home tab and select Staff from the submenu. Choose Tools at the top right and click on Staff Permissions.


  1. Select a permission group from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click on Report Permissions.
  3. Check or uncheck the box for the Sales/Sales by Category/Sales by Services permission.
  4. Click Update.
