I am an Ezidebit client and I received the error, “Problem Communicating with the Gateway." What do I do?

"Problem Communicating with the Gateway" is a general decline message that comes from Ezidebit. In order to find out more details on why the transaction was declined you must log into your Ezidebit portal.

Here are some common reasons:

  • "BSB entered incorrectly": The BSB number is 6 digits with no characters or spaces.
  • "Name on account not entered": this is your customer's name, not the name of the bank. 
  • "Account number entered incorrectly": ensure that the account number is entered in the order it appears on the check. Be sure to include any leading zeros, and ensure that there are no non-numeric characters or spaces.
