I'm trying to install a receipt printer, and I'm prompted to log in as the administrator. What do I do?

If you are trying to install a receipt printer on your PC, and your system prompts you to log in as the administrator when you already are, then follow these steps to continue with the installation:

  1. Go to Devices and Printers in the Control Panel and click Add a Printer at the top of the window.
  2. Select Install Local Printer, and then select USB Port.
  3. When prompted to select the make of the printer, just click Have Disk and browse to the location where you've stored the unzipped driver files. Then select the driver folder.
  4. The system will find the .inf driver file for the printer. Click OK and then follow the prompts to complete the installation.
