Testing the scanner

  1. Have a barcode handy (not the ones listed above). For instance, you could use the barcode on the packaging of the scanner parts, or any other product, such as a soda can.
  2. Do not use the barcodes inside the scanner manual. Those barcodes are used to program features of the Voyager scanner.
  3. Open a text editor, such as Microsoft Word for PCs, on your computer.
  4. With the cursor flashing in the blank document, hold down the button on the top of the scanner to scan the barcode.
  5. The scanner will highlight the barcode and print a series of numbers.
  6. Close the document after testing the scanner.
  • If the scanner is securely placed in the cradle/holder, you do not need to press the button in order for the device to scan.
